As much as you can like living out of your car the spot I have found is not a bad one. I'm 100 yards from a gas station, McDonalds, 24 hour laundry place. It's a truck stop that's off the beaten path. It's quiet except for the humm of the truck motors going which I find oddly soothing.
The cold has really not been a issue. It's been my knees. I don't know if it's cramps or poor bloodflow or just because I have to sleep in a odd position because the car is small but I get up several times a night to stretch. Considering I don't usually sleep well in a bed (not due to knees) I have not noticed a lack of my usual sleep.
